This is a photo of where you land at LIR in Costa Rica. It is probably the easiest and quickest airports in the world for international travel. The view from the window is spectacular, and you just walk down the plane's steps, hand over your passport for a stamp, pick up your bags, and we will be waiting for you a few feet away. The walk to our car will be just a few more feet, and we're on our way----to an adventure, to your resort, to a restaurant---or whatever you choose to do.
Here is the layout from the other side (taken May, 2008):
The left photo shows the new building, which was supposed to be a duty-free store, but now is the check-in for continental and Canadian airline charters. The photo on the far right shows the parking area, and our car will be waiting feet away when you arrive.
These lines are to check your bags for the various airlines. Before you are allowed to check them, you must go to BANKCREDITO (left on left photo) to pay a $26 tourist exit tax (you can use your credit card) and get a form that must be filled out before you reach the counter to check your bag.
One conveyor serves all the airlines to take your baggage to the plane (left photo). The right photo is taken from the parking lot and shows the area on the left where we find you after you arrive, and on the right where you enter Customs after checking your bags. We can usually time things so you don't wait in any lines. After all, you're here to have fun!
