Geraldo is a wonderful guide. Although he seems to have a strange hairdo, he is really wearing a bird's nest that had fallen from a tree as we were exploring. If you are truly interested in seeing Costa Rica, this is the way to do it. You can be as adventurous or laid-back as you wish.

There is a beautiful, on-site pool with waterfall/Jacuzzi, a snake house decorated with local Tico art...

         

and, of course, a host of mineral pools with temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 180 degrees F.

The best way to see everything is by horseback, but you can also ride a comfortable tractor to spend the day in the hot springs and even get a massage right on-site. Many people believe the waters have magical healing powers.

There are three spectacular waterfalls, including one called the Toboggan, where you can climb to the top of the falls and slide down the smooth rocks into ten feet of water.

 

As Costa Rica shrinks into a cruise ship/Disneyland, our Costa Rica Naturally resort will remain so for for the foreseeable future. We took all the above photos, and 200 more, in one full day.

 

 

There are three on-site restaurants and several bars (not blasting discos, but a place to hang out and enjoy your favorite drinks), and the food is terrific. The people are friendly beyond compare (except for our Dry Forest Volcano) and most rooms or cabins are located along one of the many on-site lakes.
